Cassettes

Cassettes are the earliest music format that I know. I remember being a child, and my father listening to Azra - It Ain't Like in the Movies at All, and it's awesome black and white cover. He listened to it in the car and at home. I also remember listening with my sister Gibonni on the cassette one sunny afternoon. The first time I bought a cassette was in college, there was a sale in the music shop, and they were seing cassettes for super cheap, 1,5 euros. So I bought some Azra, NAtive American music and cassettes became the second music format I started collecting.

I even bought a cheap walkman to listen to the cassettes. When everyone had mp3 players, I listened to the walkman. Haha, I was feeling super nostalgic because it seemed like it's a dead format. I was far from the truth. Haha, I even bought a cassette player for my old Skoda one summer, so I can listen to my cassettes. A friend who installed it thought I was crazy...

Then I forgot about my cassettes, losing my walkman and I listened more on CDs. And then in 2025 I bough a magnetophone and found some old cassettes and now I'm listening to them again. I actually prefer them over CDs and even vinys, because i always need to change sides if I want to continuous listening, so I'm always listening to the full albums. On CDs, I can easily repeat my favorite songs, and on the vinyl I can just repeat the side if I'm too lazy to change the side. But on cassette, I'm obliged to change side. I love it !
