When Lamomali's first album came out, it was A. who offered it to me—she knew how much I loved -M-. I remember listening to it then, curious and intrigued, but I don’t think I fully understood what it was giving me. Fast forward to now, and this album has found its way back into my life in the most beautiful and unexpected way.

Recently, I’ve been doing music listening sessions in my médiathèque, and that’s where I truly discovered the kora—the magical Malian instrument. I stumbled upon a clip of Toumani Diabaté… I watched, I listened, and I cried. Something deep in me responded to the sound of his fingers on the strings—something that words can’t quite capture.

And then came the realization: Toumani Diabaté was part of the Lamomali project all along. How did I not truly hear him before? How did I not feel it back then?

Re-listening now feels like uncovering a hidden treasure that had been sitting on my shelf all this time, waiting for the right moment. Lamomali is vibrant, generous, and full of life. It’s a journey—joyful, spiritual, and deeply human. Funny how music travels with us through time, waiting patiently until we’re ready to truly hear it.
