I picked up Ramiz Guliyev – Dialogues With The Tar while weeding the "Musique du Monde" collection at the médiathèque, and it was a pleasant surprise. The album introduced me to the tar, an Azerbaijani instrument, with its beautiful melodies that feel both mystic and ethno, occasionally evoking a Soviet or Russian vibe. It brings together different Eastern cultures in a way that's both calming and captivating.
